There are many types of gaps such as:
the common or area gaps, breakaway gaps, continuation or runaway gaps and the exhaustion gaps. Then there is also the ex-dividend gap.
So it depends on what type of gaps you are referring to.
There is a whole chapter on gaps in the book, "Technical Analysis of Stock Trends" by Robert D.Edwards and John Magee. If you are serious about TA, this book is for you.

Hi Jeff,
hmm... wat to do depends on your risk level and plan... if you plan never gave such an entry allowance, then stick to your plan... you can always wait for pullback if there is any... :)

Regards...

hi Jeff,
no, it depends on a lot of things... but you need to familiarize yourself with charts to tell... and many times, the probability can be read from individual charts itself.... so you need to pick up the patterns tat will and those tat wont...

Good luck!
