hi Bert,
Glad to know tat you are open and willing to learn...

If you are serious on learning TA, try reading "trading for a living" by Dr. Alexander Elder...

Dear Leno,
no offence, TA is not a miracle tool, but it does has its purpose...
i would really suggest you study at least some basic of TA before making premature statements and judgement... you are not only hindering yourself from going further, but you are starting to be negative influence to those who wants to learn...

Regards and happy learning.... :)

When I think of accounting fraud, FA suddenly becomes useless.

Thk Ben.
Hi Leno,
I am no mathematician. If you ask me what is '1+1', then my noble, ops sorry 'noble' profession will tell you the answer. let's see whether we can find a mathematician here in this blog.
I am a normal FA fellow following Graham/Buffet system. After putting much effort, the results year in year out is giving me about the market returns.
I recently read a book by William J O'neil, founder of Investor's Business Daily. He develop a system that is more of a growth/momentum combining FA & TA. Americans being Americans, they are good marketeers and insinuate here and there of making 250% and in certain years 500% to 1000%.(Of course with that returns, I wonder why he is still trying to sell his daily data/info reports. May as well trade/invest full time in the market). Of course he never tell us his losses and that his data/info biz is giving him a more consistent and secure income. But i do like some of his ideas like 'why go for mediocre returns when we should be more focus to get the huge returns' or when eveyone is highly optimistic you better get out of the market. My version and experience is ' When you start to get unsolicited market tips from friends and relatives, its time to get out'.
So I'm trying to adjust my own system albeit in not so a drastic way and try to improve my returns.
I will tell you when my returns is twice that of the market consistently year in year out.
Thanks for the opportunity to exchange opinion.

Hi RL,
Thks for your opinion and recommendation. I'll get the book from MPH tomorrow. Let Leno continue to voice his opinion and speak his mind. I like that. All of us here shd be mature enough to think for ourselves. It's such exchanges of opinions that help us to think better and improve on our thinking skills and hopefully our results.
If fact, Leno just gives me a thought that if I could create a simple mathematical formula on the correlation between CPO prices and the plantation counters quite closely or BDI, Container, liquid bulk rates with shipping counters like Maybulk, hubline, Swee Joo or other correlations, we can make loads of cash.
Thanks and Be Merry.

Thats just a factor.

One of the reasons why I moved from FA to almost pure TA is because I need only look at ONE chart to know where the price is heading

hi Bert,
erm.... i think you can get a copy of the book by downloading the ebook... original ones costs a lot... better try the free version first... hehe....

Btw, i'm totally ok with opinions... its the way things are said and the contents may be both misleading and inappropriate... and i'm not asking him to stop giving opinions, i just hope tat he can have some sufficient knowledge of the material to make more informed judgements... :)
Regards...
