My observation:

The stock is being accumulated as is indicated by the rising Accumulation/ Distribution line.

As of today, there is a divergence between the price and the Accumulation/ Distribution line. When this occurs, change is imminent and price usually changes to confirm the Accumulation/ Distribution.

It has tested the Fibonacci 50% support and bounced back. But because of low volume and market sentiment, it might test again the Fibonacci 50% support or even the Fibonacci 61.8% support..., or it might not.

Now you have a choice. Now it is a matter of timing.

Watch the MACD....

Hope for the best!

Tee, I wish you PROFITS.

Thanks.

Not in yet....still waiting for better entry.

Looking for further pullback.

Dry bulk rate has been on the uptrend and expected to grow even higher in 2008.

Basis 101 Ratio Analysis
Industry
Hubline is in the shipping industry, mainly in the container sector and recently diversified to drybulk sector.
I just did a rough comparison with Maybulk which is also in the shipping industry but more in drybulk(75%) and liquid bulk(25%).
I will try to compare some critical financial ratios as at todate pending the announcement of Hubline reults which I perceive may be quite positive looking at the rise of its market price recently.
Balance Sheet
Asset utilisation
I look at the non current assets and compare it with the sales.
Hubline has a better asset utilisation compare with Maybulk. It appears that the comtainer business is more stable or hubline may have locked in with longer term contracts with its customers whereas maybulk is likely to be more in the spot markets. Thus maybulk utilisation rate is lower.
As per asset utilisation, hubline wins all the way.
Debtors Turnover
I took the trade debtors of the current qtr and divide it by the sales and multiply by 91 days.
Hubline credit period averages 67 days whereas Maybulk is about 26 days.
As for credit risks, Maybulk is much better with lower credit risk.
Gearing
For gearing, I took the total of long and short term debts divided by the shareholders funds.
Hubline has a gearing ratio of abt 81% while Maybulk has a gearing ratio of 21%.
From default risk, Maybulk is much better with negligible default risk.
Net Cash Holdings Per Share
For this ratios I took the cash and other liquid assets net of long and short terms borrowings divided by the number of shares.
Only maybulk has an estimated cash per share of 57 sen. Hubline is in net debt position.
Profit & Loss Accounts
Gross Profit Margin
I divide the gross profit over the sales.
Hubline's has a GP margin of 20% while Maybulk has a margin of 64%.
The good profits margin reflects the increase in BDI Index from 4400 to 10148 during the year.
For GP margin, all the way for Maybulk.
Net Profit Margin
Hubline has a NP margin of about 10% while Maybulk has a net margin of 57%. Maybulks NP margin is computed by excluding the exceptional gains of RM176 million.
From NP margin angle, Maybulk is much better.
Price Earnings ratio
PE ration is computed by dividing the Market Price over the Earnings per share.
I estimated the whole years earnings by projecting the recent 9 months earnings.
Hubline may likely to have a PE range of 11 to 13 while Maybulk may be in the range of 13 to 15. Maybulks PE is estimated based on its regular earnings by excluding its exceptional gains. if exceptional gains are included, its PE may likely be in the range of 9 to 11 for current year.
So, if we average out, I would put Hubline and Maybulk as equal.
Cashflow Statement
Cash Generated from Operating Activities
Hubline only generated RM0.760 million of cash from its operating activities whereas Maybulk generated RM241 million from its operating activities.
Ideally, pending any major expansion, a company should be able to generate cash from its operating activities that is close to its net profits. Investor should monitor this figure closely. Consistently low or negative balance means the Company is unable to turn its profits into cash which means the company has a lousy business model or some creative accounting is being cooked

Non Financials factors
Maybulk as most of us is aware is under the Kuok Group which likely put them in a better light from the angle of management. So far its management decision of selling its old ships and replacing them with newer and more cost efficient ships makes sense. Its concentration on dry bulks as compared with liquid bulks is equally good and the decision to go more for spot markets as compared to longer terms contracts is spot on when we review the increase in rates for the current year.
So, for management ability, I'll give it to Maybulk.
Well, These critical ratios are those which I would review before I invest in my stocks. A comparison with a similar counter(s) in the similar industry would be helpful. Its a form of microanalysis form of FA. I did not do a stocks/inventory turnover as the above case is not critical.

No matter how much you like Hubline, wait for the downtrend to reverse before you buy.
