Rule 1 Never put an adverb between a verb and its direct object.
It is wrong to say: He opened slowly the door.
The sentence may be correctly written as follows: Slowly he opened the door. He slowly opened the door. He opened the door slowly.

Rule 2 Direct objects can change places with indirect objects.
Example
1. I gave a book to Mary.
2. I gave Mary a book.
Note that in sentence 2, the preposition to is omitted.
The indirect object never has a preposition when it's before a direct object.

Rule 8 When there are more than two adjectives of the same type, put and before the last adjective.
Example
1. The hat is green, red, blue and yellow.
2. She has a white, red and yellow dress.
3. She has a new white, red and yellow dress.
Note that there is no comma after new because it is a different type of adjective from the other adjectives.
